About Us

Paul S. Boardman established Boardman Associates, Inc. in 2001. The company's mission is to provide clients with government relations and business development services that focus on innovative ideas, efficiency, integration and modernization.

Paul has 25 years of experience in business, government relations, and politics. Having worked in Washington, D.C., London, Paris, Boston, New York, Los Angeles, and small- town Indiana, he has experience at the international, national, state, and local levels that gives him a unique outlook on business and government relations. He has worked on Presidential and U.S. Senate campaigns, run for U.S. Congress, worked on Wall Street, and run his own small businesses. He has spearheaded private sector campaigns in industries as diverse as information technology, health care, food, and public safety.

Paul is a former candidate for the U.S. House of Representatives in California's west Los Angeles district. This district included Bel Air, Beverly Hills, Brentwood, Century City, Hollywood, Pacific Palisades, Santa Monica, and Sherman Oaks. Paul won contested Republican primaries with 78% of the vote in 1994 and 82% of the vote in 1996. As a challenger to incumbent Congressman Henry Waxman, Paul's campaign agenda was based on strong defense, pro-small business, FDA reform, tax reform, anti-crime, and anti-violence in the media.

Prior to running for office, Paul gained experience in public relations and business development in Boston, London, Paris, New York, and Los Angeles. In 1985, Paul joined The Interface Group, a company at the forefront of the computer industry with its high-tech computer exhibition space. Paul was promoted to represent the Interface Group throughout Western Europe. After returning to the United States, Paul joined Paine Webber's investment team on Wall Street. In 1990, he moved to California and established La Porte Productions, Inc., a public relations company based in Los Angeles. This company specialized in marketing and fundraising for non-profit corporations and political campaigns.

Paul is a native of Indiana. He was born and raised in the small town of La Porte where his family operated Boardman's Foods (1927-1987). Paul was a high school athlete as a pitcher in baseball and forward in basketball. He attended the University of Pittsburgh's “Semester at Sea” program in 1981. He graduated in 1983 with a B.S. in Business Administration from Valparaiso University. Following graduation, he went to Washington, D.C. to work at the National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) under Chairman, U.S. Senator Richard G. Lugar. In 1984, he assisted as an advance man on President Ronald Reagan's 2nd term campaign. He also worked as a Regional Finance Representative for the U.S. Senate in Massachusetts.

Paul is married to Margaret C. Boardman, Ph.D. Dr. Boardman specializes in international relations and business history. She has taught at Pepperdine University's School of Public Policy and U.C.L.A.'s history department. They have two sons - George Bernard Boardman and Charles Walthen Boardman.
